The LEDC was founded as a non-profit corporation in 1987. Our primary focus then was the creation of the
Business Technology Incubator, which was completed in 1990.
The LEDC led the effort to plan
and build a technology park to accommodate incubator graduates and other appropriate businesses. Alturas Technology Park was
completed in 1998. As with the incubator, this was accomplished through the combined resources of the LEDC, the City of Moscow,
Latah County, the State of Idaho, and many local business people. Thanks to Alturas, growing companies, such as Comtech-AHA,
Anatek Labs, Alturas Analytics, EMSI and others have remained in Moscow, retaining over 100 jobs, averaging over $60,000 per year,
and contributing over $6 million dollars in revenue to our area.
The LEDC works throughout Latah County to help recruit and retain businesses like PNW Arms, Potting Shed Creations,
Viral Science and many more.
